The Hives - veni vidi vicious |

This album is very good. the hives seem like a young Rolling Stones to me. I dont see this album as there album that everyone will be talking about for the next 30 years though. I see this album as there foot in the door.

This album has a very garage sound but the hives still managed to make it sound good. A lot of times albums come out trying to get that garage sound and it just sounds stupid, but with the hives they managed to keep that larger than life quality with the broken amps and cheap guitar sound.

The drumming is incredible and the guitar is fast and vicious with easy cords and even easier strumming patterns. One of the few problems with the cd is track no. 8 (find another girl I think it is called.). It is one of those examples of when artists try new things but it dosent work.

It is a pretty cheap album. I got mine for 12 dollars so if you dont like it, it wont set you back. It has a "do what i want" sound through most of the album so i think it is catogorised as punk. But I would compaire them to bands like the rolling stones, not sex pistiols. The lead singer is one of the best parts of the hives. He is like a younger less drug addicted mic jagger.

So if you liked the Stones, strokes, or the white stripes this album is good for you.
